Prasanna’s Be the Change (Susila Music, 2003) was a remarkable combination of the South Indian Carnatic tradition with a fusion energy comparable to better-known guitarists like John McLaughlin. Electric Ganesha Land moves away from jazz, paying tribute to legendary rock guitarist Jimi Hendrix. The lineup features Prasanna alone or with a number of Indian musicians playing traditional percussion instruments, and it is far from imitative.

Ο τύπος είναι Ινδός (από το νότο, όπου για λόγους που δεν ξέρω έχουν διαφορετική μουσική παράδοση από το βορρά, δεν ξέρω τί σημαίνει αυτό) και από τα ινδάλματά του είναι ο Hendrix. Ως εκ τούτου προκύπτει αυτό το άλμπουμ, που συνδυάζει την κιθαριστική τεχνική του Hendrix με τα παραδοσιακά όργανα της νοτίου Ινδίας (percussions, φλάουτα και ιστορίες). Ακούστε το ακόμη κι αν δε σας αρέσει ο Hendrix, το άλμπουμ αυτό είναι ούτως ή άλλως καλύτερο από ότι και αν έβγαλε εκείνος.

VAST is an American Alternative rock band based in Austin, Texas. The acronym VAST stands for Visual Audio Sensory Theater and is the main creation of singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jon Crosby. The band is signed to 2blossoms, an independent record company created by Crosby himself. Due to the ever-revolving door of band members and instrumentalists, Crosby is understandably known as the man behind VAST, and directly controls the band's musical direction. VAST's sound is clearly identifiable as ambient electro-rock with considerable industrial and acoustic influences, usually made with Crosby's traditional acoustic guitar, electronic instruments and processing, drum-driven tracks, and heavy bass. Birth Control is a German Krautrock band known for their progressive hard-rock sound and provocative album covers.

Birth Control formed in the middle of 1968 in Berlin from two other bands, the Earls and the Gents. The initial members were: Bernd Koschmidder (bass), Reinhold Sobotta (organ), Rolf Gurra (saxophone and vocals), Fritz Groeger (vocals), Klaus Orso (guitar), Reiner Borchert (guitar), and Hugo Egon Balder (percussion).

The name of the band was a response to Pope Paul VI's declaration that contraceptives were sinful.

Their 9'47" lasting single Gamma Ray (1975) is still an international discotheque hit.

After a series of disappointing albums in the early 1980s, the group disbanded, but reunited in 1993 with new members. The band continues to tour in Germany and release new albums periodically.

Dirt is the second studio album by the American heavy metal band Alice in Chains. The album was released on September 29, 1992 through Columbia Records. Dirt was produced by the band and Dave Jerden. Tommy is the first of The Who's two full-scale rock operas (the second being Quadrophenia), and the first musical work explicitly billed as a rock opera. In some older publications it is called Tommy (1914–1984). Released in 1969, the opera was composed by Who guitarist Pete Townshend, with two tracks contributed by Who bassist John Entwistle and one fictitiously attributed to Who drummer Keith Moon, though actually written by Townshend.[1] An earlier song by blues artist Sonny Boy Williamson II was also incorporated into the opera. The album, according to Roger Daltrey, was recorded in 9 weeks.

In 2003, the album was ranked number 96 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. On the Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs CD remaster, "Eyesight to the Blind (The Hawker)" features a significantly different mix from that of the original LP (and currently available CD releases). The most prominent difference is a harmony vocal on the main verses sung by Townshend in a fashion similar to live performances of the song during 1969-70.
"Tommy's Holiday Camp" was also written by Townshend. Keith Moon was awarded credit for conceiving the holiday camp setting.

Tales of Mystery and Imagination is a progressive rock album by The Alan Parsons Project, released in 1976 (see 1976 in music). The album's avant-garde soundscapes kept it from being a blockbuster, but the interesting lyrical and musical themes — retellings of horror stories and poetry by Edgar Allan Poe — attracted a small audience. Critical reaction was often mixed, such as Rolling Stone, whose Billy Altman concluded that the album mostly failed at reproducing Poe's tension and macabre fear, ending by claiming that "devotees of Gothic literature will have to wait for someone with more of the macabre in their blood for a truer musical reading of Poe's often terrifying works".

"The Raven" features actor Leonard Whiting on lead vocals, with Alan Parsons performing vocals through an EMI vocoder. According to the album's linear notes, " The Raven" was the first rock song ever to feature a digital vocoder.

The Prelude of "The Fall of the House of Usher", although uncredited, is based on the opera fragment "La chute de la maison Usher" by Claude Debussy which was composed in 1908-1917.[1]

Tales of Mystery and Imagination peaked at #38 on Billboard's Pop Albums chart. "(The System Of) Doctor Tarr And Professor Fether" peaked at #37 on the Pop Singles chart.

In 1987 Parsons completely remixed the album for CD with some new instrumentation, and added narration by Orson Welles that was left off the original vinyl release, apparently at the request of the original record company. The CD notes that Welles never met Parsons or Collaborator Eric Woolfson, but sent a tape to them of the performance. The original 1976 mix had only ever been released in 1976, and on an MFSL gold CD until the 2007 Deluxe Edition included both versions remixed again by Alan Parsons during 2006.

Aqualung is the fourth studio album by the rock band Jethro Tull,
released in 1971. The first side of the LP contains a series of six character
sketches, including two sketches of people of questionable repute
(title character Aqualung and Cross-Eyed Mary) and two autobiographical tracks
including "Cheap Day Return", written by band leader Ian Anderson while
returning from a visit to his critically ill father. The overall message
of the lyrics on the second side is said to be "pro-God but anti-church",
and makes the statement that organized religion can actually restrict
a person's relationship with their God instead of enhancing it.

Look at Yourself is the third album released by British rock band Uriah Heep.

The title track and "July Morning" were released as singles in North America in 1971 and 1973, respectively.

The original cover art (not pictured opposite) was innovative, the LP coming in a single sleeve with a die-cut opening on the front through which a reflective foil 'mirror' was seen. This relates the cover art directly to the album title. The idea was that of guitarist Mick Box. Not being a perfect reflecting surface, one sees a distorted image of oneself. Indeed, this theme is carried on with the band photos on the rear of the LP sleeve, which have also been distorted. The band identifies with the listener and vice versa.

The LP itself was housed in a heavy-duty card inner, complete with lyrics.

The song "July Morning" has become the inspiration for the Bulgarian tradition of the same name (called July Morning).

The young singers Althea Forrest (17), and Donna Reid (18), made a big surprise with their one-off hit, "Uptown Top Ranking". It was produced by Joe Gibbs based on the riddim of the Alton Ellis' song "I'm Still In Love" of 1967, which was already popularised by Marcia Aitken's cover "I'm Still In Love With You Boy" and the dub track "Three Piece Suit" by Trinity. It was released on the Lightning record label.

"Uptown Top Ranking" reached number one in the UK Singles Chart in February, 1978, after early championing by John Peel, but had only one week at the chart summit. Oddly the surprise was compounded by the act often being billed as "Althia & Donna", and the song sometimes entitled slightly differently, as "Up Town Top Ranking". The track was written by the duo and Errol Thompson. Althea & Donna thus became the youngest female duo to reach the pinnacle of the UK chart.
